TASTER CLASSES
Our Taster Classes are a fun way to try out improvisation in a fun and supportive space for next to nothing - literally a fiver. So if you're interested in getting more creative this is a fun and risk free way to test the water. These classes give you a quick look at the basics of improvisation as well as our teaching style. And if it turns out that improv is for you, we'll knock the Taster Class fee off of your first course. ​​

OUR 8-WEEK COURSES
LEVEL ONE: IMPROV FUNDAMENTALS
​
Starts 19th March 2025
Wednesday nights 6.30-9.30pm
8 weeks £200​
Experience the thrill of your creativity in full flow, boost your confidence and laugh your head clean-off with a whole new group of friends in this safe and supportive class. Worried you’re not funny or not funny enough?? Yeah us too. You don’t need to - this is about creating comedy together.

In this level we will teach you the basics of long-form improvisation.

Our focus will be on building your confidence, working as a team and having a ton of fun.

By the end you’ll be up doing entire scenes, all made up on the spot.
Learn skills that will not only give you a blast of fun every week but have you walk taller in your everyday life. Improv is a great way to boost your mental health and get rid of stress - laughing in a room for a few hours a week can only be a good thing.
Prerequisites: None! No experience necessary. Just come with an open mind and snacks for the break.

LEVEL TWO: LONG-FORM STRUCTURE​
Starts 18th March 2025
Tuesday nights, 6.30-9.30pm
8 weeks £200​
​​​​So you've got the basics under your belt and now you want to take your long-form skills to the next level! We're in! Level Two builds on the principles we've explored in Level One and accelerates them with new techiniques and tools that allow you to create whole shows. Plus we'll keep developing the techinques and talents from the foundational levels.

Level 2 will include:

Taking the foundations from Level One and building on them.

Multiple techniques for "getting out of your head" in scenes - that the audience will never spot.

Even more ways to develop and heighten "The Game of the Scene".

Further development of your character work and stage-confidence.

Monologues and how to make them work for your shows.

Scenic editing with tags, sweeps and more!

You'll practice The Commando, a classic Long-Form show structure.

Learn everything you need to prepare you for Level Three: The Harold.

PLEASE NOTE:
This course is limited to participants who have completed our Level One course or an approved equivalent. If you are an experienced improviser and would like to join Level Two, please contact us to talk about auditioning for a spot. If in doubt, talk to us before booking.

LEVEL THREE: THE HAROLD​
Starts 17th March 2025
Monday nights, 6.30-9.30pm
8 weeks £200

Building on the principles from Level One and Two, it’s time to take things to the next level. In Level three we will explore the theory and practice of The Harold, a classic Chicago-style format of interweaving comedic themes into a full show.
​​
Level Three comes with a public graduation show at the end of the course! This is always an exhilarating, supportive night where you can finally show your family and friends everything you’ve learned and how far you’ve come.
​
This course is intended for graduates of our Level Two class.
​
Class is limited to 12 spaces, with priority given to continuing students.

All classes take place at the Northern Monk Refectory on Tariff Street in Manchester's Northern Quarter.

Class will start at 6:30pm on Monday March 17th 2025 and run for 8 weeks. The graduation show will be on the 12th May - all sessions/shows are at the Northern Monk Refectory on Tariff Street in the Northern Quarter.
