Workshop Leader

CHARLIE COLLICUTT

Charlie Collicutt is an improviser, actor, teacher and voice artist who has spent over a decade professionally pretending to be other people.

He’s performed everywhere from the Edinburgh Fringe to Soho Theatre, starred in Ciarán Dowd’s King Rodolfo, and voiced an aggressively vengeful Dracula (no bats were harmed).

He also started the podcast Crossing the Line: Tales from the Entertainment Industry, where he interviewed industry legends including Gabriel Byrne, Rachel Shenton and Mike Leigh, proving that, if you ask nicely enough, famous people will let you record them for hours.

Trained by improv titans Paul Foxcroft and David Shore at Monkey Toast and classically battered into shape at RADA and Guildhall, he brings a joyful mash-up of silliness and sincerity to everything he does. As a teacher, he’s all about building supportive, fearless groups who play boldly and have each other’s backs because improv is a team sport and also occasionally a group therapy session in disguise.

When not performing, he paints tiny miniatures for collectors around the world, quietly losing his mind over how unreasonably small their eyes are. He maintains this is still a real job.

He’s thrilled to be part of Improv North and even more thrilled to help people discover how fun it is to make things up with strangers.
