Service Description
An 8 week course that takes you from zero to improvising! We'll cover the fundamental principles of long-form improv; from cornerstones like "Yes, and", character work, creating games, developing comic timing and more! You'll develop your creative muscles as well as build your confidence, become a better listener and you'll laugh a lot in the process. These workshops are perfect for beginners and experienced improvisers looking to sharpen their skills. We keep our classes limited to twelve places to make sure everyone gets the attention they need from the staff. This course's learning objectives are: - Establish a solid foundation of improvisation techniques; including Yes Anding and - Active Listening. - Essential spacework. - Character development. - Comic escalation and Absurdism 101. - Pacing and Scene Audits. - Basic to intermediate Scenework. - Obscene amounts of fun. All you need is a little curiosity, a bit of trust, something to take notes with and a snack for the break. Class will start at 12.30pm-3.30pm on Sunday 3rd August 2025 and run for 8 weeks, at the Northern Monk Refectory* on Tariff Street in the Northern Quarter. *THE ONLY EXCEPTION TO THIS IS THE CLASS ON 7TH SEPTEMBER - This class will run from 2-5pm at the same venue.
